Message from Karen Oliver:

Hi Artists! Please see attached newsletter! I am featured artist and would like to have our members come out to see the Courtyard Gallery and my work. I was suppose to be on longer but had to return to Calgary unexpectedly and am staying longer to enjoy my annual ladies hiking trip.

Enderby is a beautiful fall drive. I am also the Gallery host on September 15 and 23rd.

Good Afternoon Artists!

We are looking to get started on our 2022 Brush & Palette Club Calendar. If possible we would like you to bring/send a painting in on, or before, October 1st, if you are interested in contributing. In lieu of bringing paintings to the Barn to photograph for contribution, you may email good quality photos to me to add to those up for consideration. Please be sure that the quality is good, preferably a minimum of 2MB-5MB.

All paintings should be LANDSCAPE format and unframed with glass removed (or photographed unframed). We would like to have the Artist Name and Title for each piece as well as the medium used.

Our Events Program - with a few changes:

Sept. 24th - Connie will be doing acrylic texturing. Please bring your acrylics supplies, or we have some in our newly organized cupboard.

October 1st - Coffee Painting with Karen. Come with watercolour paper, brushes, etc. Also this will be the last day to bring in an unframed painting to be photographed for the calendar.

Also please bring that picture for our calendar - horizontal. We will try to be organized before the process starts...

October 8th - DYOT plus bring a frame and a painting for getting lessons on cutting mats - you will cut. We have a variety of mat boards for you to choose your colour.

Coffee: EVAC is providing a coffee service for the Red Barn activities. On the counter, there is a wonderful push button, fresh coffee smelling machine for your favourite coffee choice, i.e. regular coffee, latte, mocha-chino, hot chocolate and so on. For the first three months we will partake of one free coffee per visit and after there will be a charge of $1 per cup, small medium or large. I have sampled, it's fresh and delicious! We can discuss our coffee fund when we get it all together again.

Brush and Palette Membership

The Eagle Valley Brush & Palette Club meets every Friday 10 am to 2pm at the Red Barn.  We offer instruction or 'playtime' as Miss Betty calls it.  You can join the group ($50/yr includes the required Eagle Valley Arts Council membership) or try us out by dropping in ($5 per drop in) when you are able. Due to current covid rules and restrictions we have to limit our numbers inside the Red Barn as the tables are placed for social distancing. This means members will take priority over drop-in painters as long as we are still under these distancing rules. Thank you for your understanding (Drop-ins are limited to  2x per year and then you will be given a $6 credit towards a yearly membership  should you continue to join us on Fridays).
